Shashi Vijay, the founder and owner of VJ LAW FIRM, is a strategic business partner and innovative corporate attorney with nearly fifteen years’ experience developing and implementing practical solutions and risk mitigation strategies for complex business and legal issues. Shashi combines the substantive expertise of outside counsel with the pragmatic approach of in-house counsel to provide practical, responsive and efficient service to businesses and technology startups in the Seattle area and Eastside.   

 

Shashi's technology practice includes negotiating and drafting a wide range of commercial contracts including software and solutions licensing and subscription agreements (ASPs, SAAS, MSAs and cloud), partnership and reseller agreements, inbound and outbound technology, data security and privacy agreements, intellectual property and licensing agreements, employment agreements (contingent staffing, recruiting, temporary labor, relocation) LOIs, Commercial Leases and NDAs.  Additionally, Shashi works closely with her clients to develop template agreements and deliver contract and negotiation training for legal, sourcing, HR, finance and sales professionals.  ​

 

Prior to her senior corporate counsel roles at Technology software companies, Shashi was a business and real estate litigator with boutique Seattle firms and successfully resolved multi-million-dollar lawsuits. Shashi's focus, attention to detail, patience, and problem-solving skills and interest in understanding all facets of a business, play an important role in the services she provides to her clients. On a more personal level, Shashi is determined, driven, adaptable, progressive, independent, compassionate, confident, and a tireless advocate for her clients.

 

Shashi earned her J.D. from Seattle University School of Law and is admitted into Washington state and Federal district courts. Shashi currently serves as the Chair-elect of the South Asian Bar Association of Washington (SABAW), Director on the Mother Attorneys of Seattle Board (MAMAS) and also serves as a Board member on the King County Board of Trustees (KCBA). Shashi has previously served as Chair of the Business Law and Solo/Small Firm sections of the Washington and King County Bar Association sections and is an active member of diversity groups such as Washington Women Lawyers and Asian Bar Association of Washington.

Shashi is originally from New Delhi, India and now lives in Sammamish with her husband and two kids. In her spare time, Shashi enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and hiking in the beautiful Pacific NW.
